The planner that did not exist, so we built it

Runway is the FIRE planner built for Norway: it turns your money into one honest number, the age you could stop working. It is made by Ludyem AS, a small independent studio, and it exists because its maker needed it and could not find it.

The story

Runway was built by Dylan, an Italian who moved to Norway and went looking for a way to plan his future. Every retirement app he tried was built for Americans, blind to formuesskatt, to how an ASK account really works, to the exit tax he would owe if he ever moved back home. So he learned the Norwegian rules himself and turned them into the planner he wished he had when he arrived. Runway is the result: a serious financial tool that speaks Norwegian, respects your privacy, and gives a straight answer to one question, when can I stop working?

What Runway believes

Three principles run through the whole app, and they are commitments, not marketing.

• The answer is free, forever. Your freedom age and freedom number never sit behind a paywall. Pro deepens the plan; it never holds the hook hostage.
• Honest numbers. Projections are estimates and say so. Figures are income-year-stamped (2026), sourced from public primary sources like skatteetaten.no and nav.no, and refreshed as the rules change. Progress is never inflated to flatter you.
• Private by design. No account, no bank logins, no ads. Every projection, lever, and simulation is computed on your device, and your figures never leave it.

What it models

Norway first: formuesskatt, the ASK account's capital-first withdrawals, the skjermingsfradrag, folketrygden and IPS, and the utflyttingsskatt on the way out. And because many of us dream across a border, Runway prices retiring abroad too, country by country, with the full list of modelled countries here. More home countries are on the roadmap.

Who we are

Ludyem AS is registered in Norway and makes a small family of focused, privacy-first iOS apps. Runway is its planner for financial independence. There is no growth team and no data broker behind it; there is a person who reads every support email at support@runwayfire.com.
